TBRV SPORTS/ NICOLAS PEPE HISTORIC MOVE; AFRICA RISING
His name is Nicolas Pepe, he just became the most
expensive African footballer ever after completing a whopping £72m move to
North London based club - Arsenal FC from French based club Lille.
Personally, I'm thrilled for him, not because I'm
emotionally connected to his Country - Ivory Coast having toured the beautiful
City of Abidjan during my sojourn round Africa, nor because of Ivorian &
Chelsea FC Legend Didier Drogba whom I hold in high esteem, no; but for the
simple reason is that Africans are beginning to live up to the hype in world
football. Whether he's worth £72m or not, I do not care to participate in that
dead-end argument.
Yes, despite my affiliation with Chelsea FC, but I am
African first, where my loyalty lies. I want Africa to be great, I want
Africans to break world records, I want Africans to thrive where ever we find
ourselves. I'm always supportive of any African trying to take Africa to the
world centre stage.
I celebrate this record-breaking feat. Every African
should... unless you're graduating to a witch.
I wish you emulate from the footsteps of your
predecessors in the Premier League like Didier Drogba, Didier Zokora, Kone,
Yaya Touré, Kolo Touré, Kalou, Arouna Dindane that took Ivorian football to the
pinnacle.
With 22 goals & 11 assists at Lille last season,
Nicolas is ready to take the Premier League by storm👏👏.
Africa will be great again! 💪💪
